It's kinda comical, these guys like tedrow, all excited about going to orientation, posting everyday, then when they actually go, they become real silent on this forum. Makes you wonder if they got beat up real bad or what. After 2 weeks and nothing posted, what gives? :biggrin_25516:

My husband didn't take a way to get connected while up in Ohio. So I can tell you that they are all enjoying it. He says that Bill is a hoot...he said he kind of reminds him of Chris Farley. They have each been able to drive on the road with a trailer for an hour yesterday. They did the Millis 500 as it's called the first week. They have been practicing alley docking, parallel parking from the right and left side and something else....I can't remember. They will all be going in tomorrow for more on the road time. All next week will be on the road driving. From what I've heard everyone is happy they went. But the hotel is crap. The washer and dryer doesn't work so you will have to go to a laundry mat. The pool is closed indefinitely. And if you have a problem maintenanace can't fix it...LOL My husband has been watching a purple tv for the past week...since they do not have any extras....and they have already changed rooms 1 time. Oh by the way if you are going up for training plan on rooming with someone you don't know unless you want to pay full price for the hotel. We thought he would get his own room but when he got there he was sharing a room with another student. If you share its 10.00 a week out of your paycheck. I believe if you don't share its like 20.00 or so a week out of your paycheck in addition to the 20.00 for the training and of course those good ole taxes.

I will try to post stuff since I don't want any of you talking crap about those up there...especially my husband. I believe someone else said he was taking a laptop but I would seriously doubt their internet works.

Well, thank you Tedrow, didn't know hubby was without computer. Glad he enjoys it there, I can relate to the dumpy hotel/motel. :biggrin_25512:

Thanks for trhe update, mrs ted. I'm proud of these guys and am glad to hear good reports. Althought its nice to hear a small report , its understood that they need to focus as well.

I took the initiative today and drove 2 hours to streator illinois , where Millis has a yard.

I was able to chat with some drivers and others who were very nice, and was told things are very steady.

Just in the time i was there (an hour) 6 or 7 tractors came in and there was plenty of stuff going on.

I was in heaven when i pulled in and saw MILLIS plastered all over the place --WOOOHOOOO, I am very happy about my decision, the driver i spoke with today has been there over 15 years and was very positive.

I also wouldnt worry about anyone talking bad about your hubby, inquiring minds just want to know , thats all!!

    We wish him the best

    GO MILLIS

I too am planning on greyhound, and although I am going to call the hotel and bus station to check on trnsportation/shuttle from greyhound, I'm wondering what you did?

It appears as though the greyhound is 20 miles from the hotel, did they pick him up or did he take a cab or alternate means, if so how much did it cost him from greyhound in cincin to HOJO.

I see they also have a greyhound in fairfield, which is 6 miles away, but the ticket is 30 bucks more. Which may make the difference in a cab fare .

TIA for any replies, trying to plan the best way for me and those that come after

The hotel doesn't offer anything! He took a cab from the Cincinnati greyhound station to the hotel. There were cabs waiting. He said it was 40.00.

you may also want to call millis transfer itself. if they have a driver going through your area, they may let you ride in there truck to the terminal if it is going that way.

TY ted and ty srick, your idea is a good one, if they would let me , cool thing is i live around every major interstate in chicago .

the way i have it set up so far is to have the wife drop me off in indianopolis catch the bus

at 9 35 am to cincinati, and arrive at 11.35am then

find a way to the hotel from grey hound( basically a 100 bucks)

doing it that way keeps me from sitting at the bus station in downtown chicago with all the fleabags at 3 am (bad idea)

Call millis and ask (good idea) never hurts to ask
