What size trucks do local produce companies run? Do they pay in cash or on payroll? Is it mostly refrigerated or on flatbed?

Um, produce on a flatbed?I can just see Certified Grocers in Hammond( are they still there?) deal with that, but, a question is a question, and most local produce companies use like 24 ft refrigerated straight trucks, due to the fact, alleys are no place for semis. They are all company drivers on a payroll.

I've seen open trailers hauling oranges, but in all my years, I've never seen flatbeds at a grocery warehouse.

Ive seen California doubles towing piles of tomatoes in bin pups. Pretty tomatoes too. Almost reach over and grab one...
