in the winter cold, my cat white smokes the property out for about 5-10 seconds. Not only does mine but all my friends old cats in his fleet does too. In the warm months it does not. Don’t touch the diesel pedal till truck is warmed up enough. Believe it or not, your computer does have cold start program in it and regulates what you can do.

This is true . Yours sounds normal.

Mine use to blow white smoke and flutter a bit at cold start up. Did it before and after a platinum inframe. I was chasing down an unrelated issue and replaced the fuel pressure regulator and that cured it.

Thanks everyone, took it to cat they cant figure it out either, they think it might be faulty ecm but I dont agree with that, another shop told me they almost guaranteed it's a injector cup leaking into cyclinder over night causing the white smoke and slight rough idle, so at this point I think I'm gonna tear motor back down send head out get redone ,new injector cups and go from there, I don't have fuel in antifreeze but I was told sometimes you wont depends on what side cup is leaking so we will see I guess uggg

Injector cups, have nothing to do with fuel. Injectors seat in the head. They do not even touch the cup. Like I said first, your problem sounds like a bad injector seat. I can repair that in the truck.

Injector cups cool the injector with coolant. If there is a slight leak in that seal. It will leak coolant into the cylinder which will cause his symptoms.
    Just saying

Since when does the head have to come off a cat to change injector cups?

Not true. The injector seats in the head. Even if the cup leaks, it still should not go into the cylinder.

Yep, leaky cups/cup o-rings usually get fuel in coolant or coolant geyser when pulling an injector.
