Anybody ever buy tires off Ebay?

Yea, he was somewhat chapped over it, but I rode it a couple of times, and didn't like the crotch rocket type ride, so gave it to him the next christmas anyway. lol

 

I bought tires off Amazon. Don't think my UPS guy was very happy to deliver them

Actually, Other than my regular vendors- The Best Tires are Take -offs from Rich Owner-ops...I Love to buy them all day If I can

A New Tire was $145 in 1993- I Won't pay more than $250 a tire these days-

If he is still there, there is an old farmer off the interstate a few miles north of Joliet Ill, that has the best tire prices and selection of chinese tires I ever ran across. He stocked some 8000 tires out there on his farm. I do not have his number or even name anymore, but the guys there at the truckstop gave me his info a few years ago. The old bird may not even be alive anymore, but somebody surely took over that operation.

 

I guess I am the one with the silver spoon then spoiled by FFE every october. Hey Boss, how bout 10 new tires for winter? Sure put em on here is the purchase order for the shop.

10 michelins later ready for winter battle. I suspected they were well over 300 a tire in those days. But aint got stuck for a tow yet barefoot out west yet. The best group of 4 went onto the trailer which was promptly given away (*&^%) oh well..

We have a tire place here in the county, make that several of them. They do a good job, might be a bit on special ordering.

Ive been tossing back and forth between a set of terrain tires from what I think is Falken and a set of highway tires from Hankook. It's a tough choice. Im leaning towards a set of Hankooks but I don't know yet.

 

That's only about 2799 more than a double coin is worth. Another 400 bucks could of gotten you top tier bridgestone or Michelin.

 

Is eBay trustworthy? I remember some 10 years ago that a lot of imitation and fraud was going on there. Eventually I bumped into Amazon. I liked the way their products were organized and also how easy it was to post stuff for sale. To this day, I still use Amazon.

 

Lots of scam going on on both sites. Especially stuff made in China.
