Hopefully not, but the loads are trickling in.

 

I'm headed to DeKalb, IL, delivering tomorrow (1/1) any time.
Then I have a Costco load out of Morris for my hometime load. It doesn't deliver until the 4th.
That's about 500 miles total.

So yes, I would say loads a a bit scarce.

And that will make my week only 500 miles because I won't be coming back from hometime until Wednesday.

I stopped in Alexandria, MN for the night. Got a message to get off the roads early today to avoid the New Years mess, and I don't really like truck stops between here and Minneapolis.

 

I picked up a load in ND this afternoon, and I'm glad it was a live load.
Another driver had a drop and hook and he could not pull out. He just kept slipping the tires.
After 30 minutes or so of trying I was done and gone, but he was still trying.

Left jurupa terminal to strong winds.
got somewhere by 210 freeway and pulled under an overpass. Sat for about 34 minutes till nerves calmed and left again. Got about half mile from Sierra ave and pulled over again for 15 m. this time out in the open.
a semi on the sb 15 was laying on its driverside facing north. didn't feel safe there , so crawled down to Sierra ave and parked on the onramp for another 1hr45m.
winds finally died down at the scales go up the hill.
not sure what's up with this yardmove button, but it's been on the Qualcomm last couple times I checked.

safety guy at jurupa told me to go tell the shop I didn't have the yard move button. that they would fix it. just tell.them your teuck number. but when I got to the truck it was magically there lol.

 

Somewhere past Mohawk AZ at the rest area.

Didnt feel like finding a spot at truck stop for curfew. They told us 10pm to 6am. And i already had multiple drunks following me for miles with thier high beams on. And passed a bunch who clearly were not aware of thier lack of speed.

So im glad to not be putting up with that noise anymore.

Anyway, so my load didn't make it over, but there were 4 trailers that were already sitting in the yard loaded, i sent all the trailer numbers into the office. Turns out at least two of them hadnt even been sent to swift yet. Figures, loads that arent there and we have drivers waiting. Loads that are there and we dont even know about them. Some better communication on the customers part would be nice. So my DM put the load in the system while i was strapping it down. Had to send him the bills so he could fix it all.

There was another Swift driver waiting with me. Two meltons that ended up leaving with nothing. Took till about one till ours and two PnS drivers got thiers.

But im Headed for Charlotte MI.

got pulled in for a level 1 at the scales at statrline. I noticed the left headlight was out when he had me turn them on. then he had me open the hood and then they came back on.
when he finished the inspection he had me close the hood and they flickered off again.
I grabbed the wire and shook it and came back on.
He didn't write it up and gave me a pass.
came here for the nite.
this load had a 0800 appt on Friday but dl says they will take it tomorrow.
Then he stacked me a load picking up in Victorville and delivers In lheonis Friday morning.
Then grab a load in tolleson az and tcall it here on friday.
the other shuttle driver in Denver is taking the next 2 days off for his wife medical appts.
He thought he had another driver that would take his place but I guess it didn't fall thru.
glad anyways since weather suppose to get bad till Friday

 

Albuquerque NM terminal. Yard full, I played make a spot. Didn't feel like going the extra distance to Moriarty at the moment. Only had an hour left anyway.
