What if it Snows?

level 2 inspection, passed. log book, ok. trailer CVIP...expired. F me. officer was a good guy though, these trailers are owned by the mega corporation I'm working for and the officer cut me a break. pull them to their destination and deck 'em off, tell them to get the CVIP current within 10 days...or else.

whew. CVIP violation is an automatic court appearance. usually doesn't turn out well. truckin' gods were smiling on me today.

I know that DOT and Cops have gotten to wanting to give you a break. The reason is all this stuff with FMCSA and DAC reports and points and such.
I've said it before...
DOT told me straight out they don't like the points and FMCSA one bit. FMCSA is a brat of a step child. Funded by the Megas. They want to point the finger at you. Avoid their half of the responsibility for any violations. DOT don't like it one bit.
Be nice to the cops/DOT. The want to give you a fair shake.

man, I'm sure glad the guy was decent today. like I said, it could have went bad for me. I'll sure remember how he treated me today if I see him again.

 

this is the offending unit. super-b setup, can gross up to 140,000lbs. hauling scrap metal. not glamorous.
