Load dosent deliver in Charlotte Michigan till monday. Not bad for an awkward new years return really. Doing a reset up here in MI at the Battle creek TA.

Nice turn of events. Delivered this morning near Lansing MI, picked up in Detroit, deliver salt in chicago in the AM.

Pick up glass in MN the next day and head to Otay mesa. My week is set. This is a welcome turn of events. Considering how well December went.

Also I have my mentor status back as of last Friday.

 

Otay Mesa... gotta love that town.
One truck stop that is always full and the terminal that is too small to park in.
Might be smart to reserve a spot at the Pilot if you are spending the night there.

 

I have one more day of hometime before heading back out Wednesday morning.

The insurance messed things up. My 2 girls were canceled, according to Blue Cross.
The only hint I had was one daughter didn't have her name on the new card.
Swift said they were still on it, and sent a message to Blue Cross to make sure it was made right.

Leann, my (just turned) 18 year old, is leaving the country Wednesday evening for a 3 month visit to Italy.
She is on meds and has to see her doctor before she leaves so she has enough of the med to see her through, so I'm just hoping that the mistake is cleared up in time.

 

Did that last time actually. I have still never seen the Otay Mesa terminal despite being there half a trillion times with flatbed (though i have heard for years how notoriously crap it is.)

Usually in the past we picked up lift gates at a different yard from now, that was open 24/7 and you could sleep there. But now its at Hyandai and the lock the gate at night so its Pilot or Hidey Hole. Facilities are a + so ill probably go the all in on the parking.

Though if im arriving with +8 hrs i might not bother. Depends.

Bizzare screw up with med insurance, hopefully that gets sorted.

 

chevron that's Down the street from that pilot has truck parking. but it's small and I believe you pay to park.

picked this load up in ontario this morning.
stopped at the Petro in n Las Vegas for my 30 minute break and a shower
got here around 5pm and the other driver will get here around 10pm.

 

That insurance glitch was caused by the girls moving from CO to MN. It put them in a different category, not being out of state dependents anymore.
It was cleared up today when I spoke to Blue Cross.
Each girl had been assigned different member ID, but their insurance is still current.
I notified Swift of their new address so Blue Cross could send the new insurance cards to the correct address.

Just in time for Leann's trip to Italy.
I just spoke with her and she was able to get a temporary insurance card printed.
She has a doctor appointment tomorrow at 1300, and her flight to Venice leaves at 1800.

@dptrucker theres a few decent places to park street wise the last exit before the boarder. Over there near some of the warehouses. There always a menagere of street parking going on around the pilot , but next exit down, pick a quite little side street and snuggle up.

But normally i Pay for the spot an reimburse it.

@Moosetek13 ok that would make some sense. Hopefully the trip is an enjoyable one.
