Uncle Chongs's Chinese restaurant Orland, Ca. exit 619 east of pilot.

    722 5th St, Orland, CA 95963

Usually street parking on South side of restaurant. Better than pilots offerings. I used to drive there and back off duty from pilot and not trigger elogs. Some streets around there are tight but do able and not yet restricted to trucks

This place is good. Just north of Opal Virginia. Place to grab fuel and have a sit down meal. All in house BBQ. Even BBQ breakfast sandwiches. That was a first for me. It's between route 17 and 64. Check it out. Sign out front doesn't say what's listed on the picture shown. It's under a new name but this is where you want to be.

That one's an old standby. I make a point to stop in there every time I'm in the area. Been stopping in there since 2006 when I was introduced by a coworker.

Sign out front says "BBQ COUNTRY".

    Two things to try there:

    1) Chopped smoked sausage sandwich. Dude smokes his own links, then chops 'em up for a sandwich and it is amazing. This is what I always get when I go there if they have any left (which they often don't).

    2) The scrapple sandwich, extra well done, with egg and cheese. MmmMmMM.

Yep that's the place BBQ country. It's been a while and I couldn't remember for the life of me what the sign said. Seems many know of this place. Thought I had a secret spot. :biggrin_25512:

Just a friendly reminder that the mom n pop restaurants need your patronage a whole lot more than loves or pilot. Im sitting in domingos mexican restaurant in mocksville NC. Room for 20 trucks and im the only one here.

If you got a roof over your head and a check coming next week, think about the little folks who might not in a few months.

Im eatin hamburger steak with peppers onions and gravy, tater salad, fried yellow squash and biscuits at the country kitchen on 74 @ haileys ferry rd just east of Lilesville NC.

About the prettiest day ever and im the only one here.. Sittin on an old car lift turned picnic bench next to an outhouse, a lake and bunch of sweet yard art. This place is a gem. Nicest i ever saw. Guy bought it a year ago and now its a ghost town. Great food @ cheap prices. Super quiet and peaceful, i wanna stay the night!

There’s an independently owned Pilot in Kansas City that has some of the best truck stop food I’ve ever had.

The lady making it doesn’t wash her hands before she makes the food, so you get the personal touch of whatever is crawling all over her mitts that day, and she usually coughs a few times while making it too!!

There were a few roaches crawling around on the floor last time I was there so I’m sure they assist in the food prep, which also adds to the culinary perfection.

And, as a bonus, this place doubles as a colonic center, so if you want to shed some water weight or just just give yourself a good ole fashioned cleansing then this is the place. Just have your burrito then prepare for a night on the can!!
