You will do better as a solo as in all honesty Roehl doesn't know how to run teams. I know this as I was a team at Roehl. Good luck. Sounds like you are on a good start.

I was put on that list for about 5 minutes, I got on it because I'd missed a Wausau Tile delivery appt. (for 0800 and I got there at 0820)

    WHY?

cause they didn't answer the phone until 8.

YOU SHOULD HAVE CALLED WHEN YOU HAD GOTTEN THE LOAD THE DAY BEFORE.

Best Part: I was getting that conversation three months after it had happened.

i did. but the dispatch had the wrong number, by the time i got the right one, they were closed.

OH YEAH, I REMEMBER THAT. FORGOT TO MAKE THE NOTE. MY BAD. NVRMND.

I started training at Marshfield on August 3,2009. I have my CDL but, because I have not driven semi for 2 years I have to attend their school. I have to say it is very thorough and everyone is great! I did not have air at my hotel room (which is 5 minutes from Roehl) and my recruiter and the head of training called the hotel about it. They asked me everyday if the air was fixed yet!
Marshfield, Wisconsin is a nice, quaint town. They have everything here you would need. The rooms are big, clean, and have a Fridge, Microwave, coffee maker.
The trainers are all very experienced and helpful and encouraging to everyone in my class. I have no problems here. I actually consider myself fortunate to have been asked to attend the Roehl school. Sure I am paying for it...but Roehl is one of the better companies out there. I will keep you informed of how it goes. Wish me luck.
Roehl is hot on MPG...right now the company average is 6.8 MGP.
Someone posted on here that Marshfield "is a dump". No it is not.

here are my mileage numbers for the 8 days of Evo II ..... I drove 2254 miles of the truck total of 3462 ...... my number would have been higher but a couple of days I had run out of hours ...... my fm confirmed this morning that I only have 2 more days of Evo II and we are hoping for me to finish those up by next monday so I can test and get my truck for Evo III ....... so far I'm staisfied with the way things have been going except for last thursday when I seemed to have forgotten everything for a day ..... but I made it thru .... let me know how your doing with your training and Eric I am looking forward to your post as to how it;s going with your own truck as that is the path I want to take a year or so down the road ....

Which hotel are you staying at? I am at the Clearwater with no fridge, no microwave and no coffee pot. It would be nice to have a private room, but I can handle a roomy for a few days. However, it is a bit awkward to roll in late at night and meet someone that you will be spending the next several evenings with for the first time. I have stayed in worse hotels, this place isn't terrible.

I came back for lunch today and the Hotel personnel were knocking on my door. I answered and they said the front desk had them looking for an empty Roehl room. Let someone at Roehl know what is going on. You should be having the same as I...you paid for a private room with the same as I have.

Yeah,, same thing happened to me at lunch as well,, seems the hotel staff is a bit behind the powercurve,,, other than the lack of coffee in our rooms (Cost savings issue),,, no real complaints,, the school is going well,, we are getting lots of time behind the wheel,,, other group in our class has a challenge,, but its too late for them to start smoking now ( The school matches you up with smoking trainers for smokers, non-smoking instructors for the healthy)

    mycorky Thanks this.

You're all at the Clearwaters? I was at the Woodfield last year, and the air conditioner was broke. But in August, with the windows open in Wisconsin it wasn't bad. Interesting to see a reference to broken air conditioners again this year.

Yeah,, you would figure they would have spare parts on hand,, if not a replacement unit considering they should try to accomodate their customers/guests,,,,,After lunch today, Mycorky came back to class and said her A/C is still down,,,,, glad we dont pay full price here!!
