Hello, I'm very interested in Prime's training program, their company outline as it pertains to new/trainee driver particulars and the ability to meet solid paying miles. Much of this has been covered in previous posts. What I'm most interested in is which terminal would create the best chance of a less than long wait for a traning spot. I'm able and capable to move about the country to be nearest said terminal. If it's at all possible could any of you Prime vets clue me in as to what location in the country would provide a leg up on the most lucrative Prime freight hub. I'm single, retired, semi-retired, retired, retrying the working life again. Hometime, if and when per se would be the Phoenix area. I'd much prefer to work and run the western region. I've a CDL B with A,P and S endorsements. I've read and understand the pay scale for fresh meat, how to stay palatable while on the road and what to expect as far as the training time line is concerned. I hope this post's clear enough, the experience available on this forum outweighs the fodder of dismissive and contrary replies on other trucking forums. Excuse any redundancy's. Thanks in advance for your input.

    Doesn't matter...

Prime uses a different business model that's not based on "terminals." We're all dispatched out of the same pool of freight... that's based on first empty, location and then whether or not the load must be attached to a team or not to make the delivery appointment.

Home time isn't tied to a "terminal" either... you get a load going near your chosen "home" location, deliver, drop the empty and bobtail to your house or wherever you will park the tractor.

Thanks, you've reiterated what I've gatherd to this point. It didn't strain this forum to ask. What interests me primarily is which Prime location would best be suited to become a student without weeks of waiting. I like the idea of Springfield to train out of, there's some pretty good fall fishin' in the area. If you've anything else, other than your quantitive and quality posts to this point I'd appreciate your insight. Again, thanks.

Doesn't matter... you probably won't get a choice. It does matter about what you'll be doing after training. While we all have access to the same freight and (in general) we're all dispatched lower-48-wide, SLC does more western-regional - if that turns your crank. I'm dispatched out of Springfield, and end-up doing mostly east of the Rockies (with a lot of NE thrown in); that being said, U2 is dispatched off of the same board in Springfield, and he gets more west coast, simply because home time for him is Washington state, I believe. Cali loads generally get loaded on team trucks, so I usually don't see much of that being solo.

Waiting time is based on pure luck of the draw. Maybe you get some wait time because of a lack of trainers the week you pop-up for one; maybe not. Looks like you're in a hurry to get this going - just let your recruiter know you'd rather get going on this ASAP... that might help.

Lost,,,read my first post. You'll see I'm free to move about the country. Thus I can find time to fish. Find time to read, discern cognitive talents as well as drive. Not to matter. You'll be safe around me. This is the last nip and tuck I'll respond to. I've seen far too many caustic remarks sour something so simple as a Q&A forum.
