I hate to break it to you, but that is me in that picture and if I were allowed to post my Facebook, you'd have more proof of that fact. And I'm not a recruiter, never have been and quite frankly wouldn't want to be.
I'm just sharing my and my father's good experiences with a company that, all too often, gets too much flack.
If it makes you feel any better, I am no longer driving for the company and have decided to pursue a further education. I'm currently enrolled in Full Sail University and in it for the Recording Arts, and was able to pay for it using the money I saved up working with Werner. Which is why I've not been posting replies to policy questions lately - I can't post honestly when something may have changed in the last couple of months.

Come to think of it, let's get this out of the way:

Jody Larson, Larz and The Challenger Thank this. -
Fair enough. My initial post was an attempt to smoke out a shill. Don't take it too hard. That's the internet.
Anyways, I'd love to see a little thing like you behind the wheel of a big ol' long hood rowing through the gears. :smt112 -
The only thing I take hard is a personal affront to me and my family in public. There's no reason for that and, even on the internet, it's quite childish and disrespectful.
But thank you, on the second half. -
Good luck with your schooling, Tará! I enjoy reading your posts and hope you continue to check in periodically!
-
Thank ya kindly, Ducks! I'll definitely stop in to keep up on things. I'm missing the road already...but not missing the smell of various parking lots.

I had hope to get some ink !
I got out of this in 2002 when CF went out. I took a couple years and went to school and worked as a apprentice chef in princeton !
New wife and Baby brought me back, after doing line haul the past4 years at Roadway, I am here at werner giving them a chance.
I'am sitting here in KS city Mo on a restart.
This is different from what I am used too.
The DMS can try to bully you some time, and the Quellcom shoud be Hellcom . . But thats an old Dog barking !
When I got my id#666 and AC DC was on the radio Hiway to Hell was playing. That made have second thoughts. No apu and the ac didn't work after 6 hrs I brought back my issued stuff and told them if this is they way things are going to be take it back now and I will be going on.
So that got the Ac repaired .
But I am giving them a chance.
But I did want want to get some more Ink, sorry that won't happen !
You always remember where and why you got a piece !
Best of Luck in your future and it seems you were raised well !
Best Always !

Is Werner's per diem program truly optional or is that info just a handy recruiting tool? I know there are many similar plans at other companies that are not optional. thank you in advance for your input.
-
It IS completely optional...But they will attempt to rope you into it during orientation, painting a pretty picture. They also give you the option of utilising per diem during training only, and then you switch afterwards.
But I wouldn't bother, honestly. If you don't plan on doing per diem, don't use their trial period because getting out of it is almost like trying to get a creditor to stop calling you....Lots of time waiting for the right person on the phone and a huge headache afterwards.newbie67 and The Challenger Thank this. -
If you ever find yourself in the Orlando area, Skip, give me a heads up! I'm still doing ink on the side (and at all hours of the night, too). Couldn't very well stop after having magazine publications out there...*sigh* I think I'm getting less sleep now that I STOPPED driving. Hehe.
