Do on road trucks really have more emissions problems though? It very likely could be as simple as we just hear more about the on road truck emissions issues do to the sheer number of trucks out there.
Another theory also could be that off road trucks have the benefit of hindsight. The engine mfg's have figured out what went wrong and fixed then. After all, they are still a couple generations behind on-road trucks iirc.Doealex Thanks this. -
1) I'll sell you my Casper with new drives for $28K.
2) 800K miles it's time for an inframe or a reman. I favor the idea of a reman. -
Off road has been using DEF for like 4 years now. I work at an equipment dealer and I honestly don't see too many emission issues come thru the door.D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

There are some shops around that can get rid of the problem
Or just don't buy one of the shop queens that have def.
stillwurkin Thanks this. -
Think off-road has higher workloads ? And that is surprisingly to help .

Realistically, if the oldest equipment with DEF is four years old, that’s the equivalent to 400K miles on a truck. In other words, the fun is getting ready to start for you....
Rubber duck kw, stillwurkin and ZVar Thank this. -
Do they really get the hours on them that a truck gets before being sold off at the auction?? I got a 1973 951c with something like 6k original hours on it. Granted that's an extreme case.Doealex Thanks this.

Purchase price was 32k, DD15, 13speed full gauges. Was a well spec'ed O/O rig. Had 760k on it and no codes, virgin drives and steers.

Stuff runs 24/7 here. We're seeing stuff with DEF pushing 10-14k hours.D.Tibbitt Thanks this.
