What's the best way to secure the chain ends that go around the pipe spool to each other? Do you use a twin clevis? Is there a quick-release solution so you can easily move the chain, or would you just put a chain around each pipe spool? Also, can you attach a flat hook to that chain, or would you need a chain-end strap? Thanks.

I would put a piece of chain around each spool myself. They make a link designed to put two pieces of chain together that is dot legal. Maybe someone else can post a picture from the internet of one. I don't know how to do that or I would. I don't know if a flat hook would work with the 3/8 or not.

There are all kinds of work arounds, but I can easily see why you want more like the ones you have,
Someone made those ends for manac. What I would do, is try and see if manac will not tell you where they had them made and see if they have not still got some, or will run off a small lot for you. You can then have a strap sewed on the new ends. I would imagine the costs will be higher than normal if they were readily available, nit it is what it is.
It looks like manac would do their best to get some for you, it kind of sucks to build trailers for something they are not going to keep available.

If you have room, you could also build a drying and warming box, we ran the exhaust through an enclosed headache rack, mainly for just this purpose once.
