I saw that coming, with the increasing popularity of the internet. So many people willing to create content for free.

That and.... so many Fiction Majors in Journalism....
I invented the truck water cooler... So ex-office workers will feel at home.LtlAnonymous Thanks this. -
Yeah, I think all modern journalists need serious lessons in objectivity. Most articles are thinly-disguised op-eds.Zoltan1a Thanks this.

This was true many years ago, but not near as much today. The only true free drivers are the OOs operating under their own numbers. The driver tracking these days is horrid. I think I understand the point you were making. There is freedom of the road. Today's drivers are so dang regimented that I have a hard time calling what most do as having freedom.Last edited: Jan 18, 2020
T.Rucker Thanks this. -
Not office work, but I worked for 15 years on warehouse loading docks before getting my CDL, so went from a physically intense job to a sit down job. I don't regret it, but I really do miss the daily physical activity. But I felt I had little choice, after so many years of doing it I have a bad lower back and knees. My body couldn't take it anymore, I'm not even 40 yet and I practically need a cane unless I'm walking at a normal speed.

Warehouse jobs can be hard on your body but same goes with office jobs and trucking as well.
Its true, any job can be detrimental for your health in the long run, I seen it all. I work at an orthopedic office and the main surgeon has been in the game for years, one surgery he did, he twisted the wrong way and messed his back up and ever since than, he has a herniated disc. Even the therapist that I use to work with has a bad hand due to working on patients for many years, he eventually developed arthritis. I know it’s hard because we work drive for 11 hours daily and possibly do other stuff on duty for an additional 3 hours but just find some time to exercise and stretch for 30 min- 1 hr, even as little as 15 minutes a day can help in the long run. -
I walk around any chance I get, even a few laps around rest areas when the weather is nice. Constantly looking for rest areas that have trails or are near parks. I love walking and can hike for hours because once I start moving and get warmed up, I can keep moving and wont get tired.mind_masta Thanks this.

That’s really good! I always encourage my wife to take a walk because her office is right by a safe and nice park but she refuses to do so -_-.
