I finally ended up giving Welfare Express proper notice since I have a better job offer. 1 reason why isn't consistent pay, I may see a $700 paycheck one week, then a $300 check the next week, $550, the week after that, then a $250 the following week.

They give you a fuel card you dont pay for it and the lumpers are paid via EFS check via cash advance which when you send in the receipt is paid back on the same check currently I work here and have for 9 months it's not the greatest by far but what your saying is just not true

Payroll could have made a mistake of course but they don't make company drivers pay for fuel or lumpers !

Lumper fees are shown as cash advances but reimbursed on pay settlement sheets as long as you turn in your receipt(s)

First time I've ever defended Western Express before

Here's another company I worked for that did the same thing with EFS . Notice how it shows lumper deduction but then shows reimbursement

At Werner I got a quote from an in house lumper service and sent it over the communication device. The gerbils in headsets at the other end of the communication said "too much". I told them I don't get paid to negotiate lumper fees for them and will leave the trailer at the door and bobtail home. They paid and next day sent out a fleet message that we should help the company by lumping loads ourselves to save company money. Werner has gotten better since then. They are actually pretty good for what they are.

HA it's going to be too much, declined, denied, etc etc etc. Then when you send in receipts etc you are mowed over fighting payroll for it.

This was back in the days of 60 dollars trailer to unload. I don't deal with that anymore. Too much income was lost. There is no point in trying to recover, half the companies got their money and ran out of business.

What really gets good is when dispatch tells you both stops to deliver is stacked on pallets for forklift unload in known lumper places. They don't get to touch a #### thing. Just drive forklift until out and papers signed. One time I had one protest that he wanted to mess with second stop. Closed the doors on him and delivered him and the second half of the load to the stop two across the property. He got to walk back.
