I was employed with them for 2 yrs with a good on time record. Appx. 4 months ago I was told I had to drive my personal car back and forth to lexington. With that extra burden, along with the low miles I was forced to look for a better job. I had one, but the faulse report that was given to them by arnold cost me that job. thay claimed that the truck was abanded while under a load. I left truck on company property, call dm said I quit, told him where truck is, he said good luck. To anyone that has plains to quit, get a written letter from dm on where he wants the truck and have him sign it, this can happen to you, along with them taking 500 from your check, because its not in the right place.

I know what you are going thru, the samething happen to me, I had another job lined up, told arnold that I guit, was sent to lexington, had my family meet me there, there was no futher responce from arnold saying that that truck could not be left there. The end resolts were the same. Arnold has cost me the job, kept my last pay check, and 5 yrs of driving down the drain. I could understand it better if I had abanded at a truck stop, or even under a load, but that was not the case, the truck was left with the company, but that didnt matter to arnold. In my opinion Arnold is using these faulse abandments crys as a sorse of income only

panhandlepat just quit Arnold a few weeks ago. Would be interesting to hear what his experiance was like.
-
I sure hope that panhandlepat is doing better then I am. I got turned down by jbhunt. Arnold is still refusing to amit that the dm never told me that was wrong. I talked with my dm he stated that he was almost fired the last time he helped a driver with the same problem. I'm just praying that something will come along soon, or I will have to put my handycap son in a home.

You don't tell a OTR company where the truck is. You ask them where they want the truck dropped off and you have the proper rep give it a look over and sign off on it's condition.
You want convenience in quiting your employer? you won't find it at most OTR companies. You may have to deliver that load and drive hundreds of miles to be in compliance with company policy. Or get your DAC trashed.
Abandoned truck under a load? Have fun getting hired by anyone who uses DAC.
Sorry but no one should trust their future livelihood in trucking to a schmuck dispatcher who could care less after you drop off their board.
You want to quit. get a load to a designated service center which is outlined in the procedures for turning in your truck in every employee manual at all 4 OTR company's I have worked at. -
I was not under a load, and the truck was checked in by the company staff. There for the right thing was done, but to arnold that was the wrong thing. I'm in agrement with solo man, with out a written letter form them, thay will always cry abandenment to make money, no matter what terminal you take the truck to, for example you take truck to jacksonville, but after you quit, Arnold will cry abandenment because thay wanted the truck in austell, protect yourselfs from this crimenal act, always get a sgined written letter fax to you, because just taking truck back to them, will always be the wrong thing to do:smt070

I do know that he didn't go to another company. He got out of trucking all together, but he still hangs around here.
