@mover man @MACK E-6
Im picking up at the W. Washington convention center. When I leave the convention center, I know I can go 50e(NY ave), But, can I take 295s instead of going to 495? Ive been on the stretch of 295 from the MD state line north to 695/395. Didn't know if I could use the stretch between US50 and I295.....

You can run 295 south of 50, just not north.nikmirbre Thanks this.

Ok that's what I thought. I used the DDOT route thing online and it wasn't right at all when I dropped off there on Sunday. Figured Id ask here instead of relying on the city!!

If you’re going south and you’re under 13’ the 395 tunnel is another option. 9th St will get you there too but I’m not sure on the height for that tunnel.nikmirbre Thanks this.

When I left the convention center the sign said no trucks in the tunnel, I don't think it said that going north, I took it anyway as I was under 13ft. Yes Im under 13ft empty but ill be about 13'2 loaded so I couldn't do that anyway. I couldn't find a good way to come in when delivering so I stopped at the MD/VA line on 95 at the forest hills exit and unloaded in that little parking lot and drove the dump truck to the convention center and caught a cab back. I ordered permit for weight but DC doesn't give routing and I used the DDOT website and was told 295/695/395......

I haven’t been over that way since the last time I pulled a flat, so that’s a part of the world I try to aboid now.

Back then I used 9th and 12th Sts a lot to get in and out when I was on the south side.nikmirbre Thanks this.
