I'm not a trainer (yet will be soon I think...) the one you probably met was Mark he retired. Log ops absolutely plays a roll within dispatching the system drivers. Quite a few times I've had local dispatch get overthrown and a run passed onto a system guy while I was standing there and could hear the calls.

yeah, I recovered a load from a driver in Cincy around sept last year. Dude picked up an Iowa City run from Greer(on a saturday), and was just pulling into Cincinnati around 1700(on a monday). He was beyond late(was due that day at 900). His 'excuse' was truck and trailer problems, yet mechanic even came in(when I was talking to dispatch about what all they had next) and said, that guy just doesn't want to drive, nothing is wrong with anything. Next thing I know, here calls log ops wanting someone willing to 'work'. No problem here, load just needed to be steamed, and gave me 8 hours until I needed to leave for delivery. Ran into a Morrow driver early this morning saying Heniff TM and dispatch is moving into Morrow terminal in 2 weeks. Kind of questionable, he couldn't even say Heniff correctly! lol

Well, you have to admit, heniff is an odd name, I know a lot of people who don’t say it correctly

Heard of a few more drivers leaving from different terminals mostly sounds like its because of the unkowns. Uneasy feelings still here I know we are trying to get more home daily loads that are hourly... which is alright in some ways I guess but I'm not making as much which sucks. Rumor has it heniff offers overtime after 40 hours and a larger local work radius so that would be interesting to find out more on.

    Yes ot after 40.
I'm kinda super local out of town most days, pretty much a 7 state area. 300 mi. Radius, Cincinnati and St. Louis is about as far as I've been

So your local covers 300 miles? My husband is strictly local, but does run some regional.... local miles for superior is 125, and if the miles are right at 125, your probably gonna get mileage, not local pay. He's hoping to stay local seeing that Heniff is not only taking on superior drivers but also their customers, hoping they don't change things up to much... But Agreed with others on here... the Unknown Sucks!

Wouldnt you make more on mileage vs hourly at that distance? 125 loaded miles out 125 empty back is what $120? Would be better than getting $22 hourly

Yes day cab, 300 mi is rare but I've done it. Most of where I run usually around 200 mi out and back.
    If stuck out it's a motel, That's only happened 2 x in 5+ yrs.
They've been sending day cans to Detroit lately, So far I haven't done one
