I have the original motor for mine. It has a rocket out of a '75 in it now... bought it off the same guy. Had a new tranny in it when I bought it. I'm sure it's junk now. Sitting in a shed somewhere around here.
I'm getting to old and being realistic I'll never get everything done I wanted. Have to build the other 379 before I do anything.
I enjoy doing this but it's slow and I need to get back running. Since we got the place at the lake I don't get much done when it's warm. Plus she wants a bunch of stuff done there. My body is wearing out!!!
Where is everyone #5

It is a good bunch of guys. If you get out of town to Arizona there is a Ponderosa Pine Forest. It is more impressive in person.
Happy trails to you!Slowpoke KW, cke, exhausted379 and 8 others Thank this. -
Arrowhead Travel Plaza.
Turns out I’m hauling some 767 tooling to Grand Prairie. I believe it’s the “jig” they ship the horizontal stabilizers on. Pretty neat.Slowpoke KW, cke, Eldiablo and 8 others Thank this. -

old thread but I have to respond.
I was told today at work that a woman flatbedder came in some years back and her load had to be tarped.
she moved out of the loading area and when she got back out all she had on was a bikini top and bottom. They said the other 4 male drivers they ran over and tarpped her load.
Do what ya gotta do I guess. I would probably help her to.
There are times I need help but won't ask unless the tarp ends up on the ground. 16x28's heavy rubber. At 65 I can't do what I did at 25Slowpoke KW, cke, exhausted379 and 7 others Thank this. -
You's alot different than me. I don't play that game.
I spent a half hour calming down a pregnant big girl that scaled me every day cause of a gal I still have to deal with....she thought she was gonna come into her scale house and chew her axx cause she can't read gages.....she got a education. Guaranteed the I can't backup into the building to dumb off entitled blond would have been in a world of hurt. She didn't play no games.
We got along real good....Slowpoke KW, cke, exhausted379 and 8 others Thank this. -
I'm not going to lie and say that I'm not enjoying some of the features my....uh...new truck has. (Well, new to me it's a 2018 w/ 20k miles). Did something I swore I wouldn't do a couple weeks back, but I have zero regrets.
That being said, I do think there's too much "luxury" in some of these outlandishly priced trucks. Co worker bought a "Platinum" F250 recently and when he said what he paid for it I almost choked. Then he put another pile of money into a lift, wheels, tires... all for a truck that's going to forever be a pavement "kitty cat".
Let's see...
All these old tractor pictures @OLDSKOOLERnWV is posting reminds me I need to take an post some pictures of the display a local ready-mix company has. Lots of neat old dirt-churners.Slowpoke KW, cke, Eldiablo and 10 others Thank this. -

Went to school with a kid his dad was a iron worker so the kid pretty much raised himself. He'd get a roll of dimes at go to the laudermat and ride the dryers. In the winter it was all about bumper sliding... Clancy was a character for sure...
Slowpoke KW, cke, Eldiablo and 5 others Thank this.
