That's the way T-Cheks/Comchecks work. The company advances you the money which is paid through the check. Then they reimburse you once they receive the receipts.

I worked for SMITH TRANSPORT of Roaring Spring, PA for a week and a half. SMITH TRANSPORT of Roaring Spring, PA put me in a FreightShacker Columbia and the truck was very nice looking from the outside. Inside was a whole other story. For starters the interior was once gray... and was covered with a pretty shade of yellow from all the smoking that had been done in that truck, I'm guessing. Literally the whole interior (all the panels, dash, steering wheel, seats and even the mattress) was covered in a yellow tint. My wife was in disbelief when I came home the first week. The steering wheel felt horrendously sticky and remained that way no matter how much I cleaned it. Upon getting in the truck my allergies went out of control. My allergy meds didn't help. I was trying to drive this truck for over a week with itchy watery eyes, a whole lot of sneezing and a severe head ache from sinus pressure. Tylenol did help the headaches.
Now, before getting into this truck I asked to be reassigned another truck. I even showed the guy in charge of truck assignments and he said you can take it or leave it and he then followed that with, and if you leave it you will have to provide yourself transportation back home to Virginia. On my third day I eventually had to stop at a rest area for a few hours because I could not see. My eyes became swollen from all the itching. I immediately called the safety department at SMITH TRANSPORT of Roaring Spring, PA to advice of my situation. I was told, Bring the truck in and well have the shop clean it out for you; problem was SMITH TRANSPORT of Roaring Spring, PA had already done so. So, I requested another truck and made it clear that I did not care if it was the oldest thing in the yard; it just needed to be cleaner than the truck I was currently in at the time. SMITH TRANSPORT of Roaring Spring, PA still had me deliver my load under the condition I was in.
I eventually made it to the warehouse in NY. While making my way into the area of the bay doors my right outer trailer wheels drove on a very small patch of grass. The ground was wet so the tandems left an impression on the grass. The manager at this place made a fuss about it and I apologized. I thought that was the end of that. Well it was not; I applied for a job a year after leaving SMITH TRANSPORT of Roaring Spring, PA and found out that I was disqualified from getting this job because SMITH TRANSPORT of Roaring Spring, PA had reported the aforementioned incident as a PREVENTABLE ACCIDENT on my DAC report. I called SMITH TRANSPORT of Roaring Spring, PA about the DAC issue and according to their safety department it cost them money and that was why they reported it as such. When I tried inquiring further about it, the safety department at SMITH TRANSPORT of Roaring Spring, PA hung up on me. I called again and the guy said the same thing and I tried once again to inquire about why and the guy hung up. I'm a former Police Officer and know how to keep my cool. At no time was I disrespectful to the person I spoke to and yet, I was disrespected and could not discuss the matter with the safety department at SMITH TRANSPORT of Roaring Spring, PA.
If you are considering working for this company I suggest you think about it. SMITH TRANSPORT of Roaring Spring, PA does not care about their drivers. DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE GOOD LOOKING IMAGE THEY PORTRAY ONLINE AND OF COURSE BY THE GOOD LOOKING EQUIPMENT THEY ALWAYS CLAIM IS TOP OF THE LINE.
Just my experience with this so called top notch company that's "Dedicated to Excellent", yea right.
Remember, Ain't Nothing But a Peanut! Y'all keep trucking and please be safe out there>

Did you get your lumper form signed? If you did then look under your reimbursements on your settlement sheet. A lot of the time it shows as an advance and then it shows that you were reimbursed that amount.

Ok thanx for all the replies. I'm going thru all my papers and receipts now. And yes I am anal about getting all the I's crossed and T's dotted! (snicker) That'll be ok if that's the way they do it, but I AM NOT paying to unload their frieght!! LOL
That sucks about your truck being so dirty dude. I feel for you. I'm a smoker, but I clean my truck every day or so. The truck I got is ok, I'm happy with it, but I asked the guy at the garage about my drag link being so loos, and he said it was ok. Well it aint. It shakes pretty bad so now I have to TRY and get it fixed. Hell I'll even do it myself if they would just give it to me.

Yeah, a lot of times, the "advance" for a lumper comes out right now from your settlement, but, the re-imbursement back to you won't show up until the following settlement because of the paperwork delay. Get your paperwork scanned/trip-packed/turned in pronto.

I used to keep track of ALL pay items when I was with swift. I had a notebook and would have a page for each trip. I would put down the dispatched miles, actual miles, any tolls, lumpers, repair parts I bought, etc. Then I'd check my driver pay page on their kiosks and check the items off in my notebook as I would get paid for them. I also kept copies of EVERYTHING, bills, receipts, etc. That way if something didn't get paid, I just sent it in again. Never had a problem for the most part, maybe had to resend stuff like twice.
Until they refused to pay me miles from Memphis to a receiver in MS somewhere and back because I was orignally supposed to t-call the load in Memphis. Never did get that 500 miles or so. -
this is the worse company i ever work for, u will never get a bonus and if u complain they will not give u any miles and crapy loads, stay away from this company

Well the lumper thing worked out. Thanks for all ya'lls input. It was reimbursed on the very same check it came out of. I just didn't understand what I was reading. I've got no complaints about the Co SO FAR. LOL We'll see how it goes. Some runs are just WAY to long to do in the time alotted, so I'll just have to talk to my DM about that.
I was 2 hours over my 14 the other day, and when I got off the NJ turnpike guess who was there? NJ DOT!!! Luckily they took the truck in front of me or I PROBABLY would have lost $1,000 and been fired!!! I'll never do THAT again. WHEW!!!! -
I'm glad it all worked out for you. The thing with the runs being too long for the delivery times was my biggest problem with them. All the way up to the point that I left them. I had a load that I was dispatched on that was from west of Kansas City, KS that went to March, NY when I had less than 12 left on my 70. I told them I wouldn't be able to make it on time due to hours and mY DM told me to send a mac 10 sayinbg I couldn't guarantee on time delivery. Low and behold when they had to relay the load I wound up with a service failure. You just have to stay on your toes with them. Is your DM in the spring, Remington, or Osh Kosh?
