I'm having a hell of a day. The cookie meal or bakery meal I picked up friday is one big cookie in my trailer. After 4 hours banging on the trailer to get 1800 pounds of it out, they decided to reject the load. Apparently this stuff only comes in on dumps and walking floors usually. It was quite a scene before I left. There was nothing wrong with the product, dry as a bone but sticky and I don't have super hopper doors.
Well I got to spend 2 hours wondering if I was going to have to eat it and take it back up to Upper Sandusky OH from NC where I am, or if I would have to file a cargo claim and take it to a dump or what. Finally the broker called me back and told me to take it to Selma NC to get it transferred to a dump here (60 miles away) and also got me another $200 for the trouble.
Wow that could have worked out really poorly. Anyway I'm still not looking forward to this, will be another hour until the dump gets here and I still have to figure out how to get this stuff out of there. This new trailer has no vibrators, doubt they would help much unless they were huge. I was already under it digging it out with a gardening shovel. No matter what, all that would come out was whatever the shovel touched and no more.
After the first two hours I threw up, pulled up to let the dumps behind me go. I decided to sleep a couple hours. I was so filthy and my hair full of cookie dough that I threw a pair of underwear on my head to lay down.
I was up the whole day yesterday at home and decided it would be best If I got the 3 hour drive out of the way before going to sleep so I left at around 12:30 and got there at 4am. Well I still felt ok so I figured let's go ahead and get it unloaded. So the whole situation kinda screwed me, I only got the hour or so sleep and this nightmare is far from half over. (and I'm still within HOS lol)
So my truck has developed another couple/few things. The voltmeter now hangs out at the yellow line pretty much with nothing on but the engine. One of my batteries has that green stuff on the terminals (stamped June 08 ). Also my truck got real loud up front on my way here. It's like when the muffler fell off a few months back, but the noise is up front instead of to the rear. I checked under the hood, the turbo exhaust looks ok, everything I could see looks ok. Probably the coil pipe underside or something I can't get to.
Oh yeah I also tore off a mudflap on the trailer this morning somehow. It's stowed under the bunk.
Hey it's all only $$$$$$$$$$ right? -
and the pisser of it all is once you get it into that dump they will take it back to the same place that rejected it and deliver it again

oh man there is literally a Mexican Swat team in, on, under my trailer right now... they got it going pretty good. I hit it a couple times to make it look good.
Very relieved!
Yep, I got an extra $200 for losing the morning and the extra 60 miles. I'm quite shocked. I don't EVER get detention pay, even when the plant is broken down half a day. -
If only they could have been called in to your original delivery location, maybe it would have saved you all the trouble.

End off the day with 1 for sure, most likely 2 flat tires... brand new ones. I don't even want to get into it, but I need to sleep. And I only really drove about 4 hours today all in.

When you have a day like you have had a person gets tired easily. Also trying to get that goob out wouldn't have been easy. Kept talking about cookie dough thought of that sesame street character cookie monster. He would have got it out.
