heading west through st. louis with the sun setting behind those arches was the prettiest thing i saw. hit it just right and it looks like a glowing aurora. there's also a couple of buildings in downtown dallas that have some pretty lights on them also.
checking google lately there's been extra heavy rain this year. up north. and not one hurricane has happened yet. cept for a small one in hawaii. summer really hasn't been that hot this year. we haven't seen one day over 97. and usually half of july hovers around 105. august has already been on the way cooler side. heck, death valley only had a couple of days at 105. mostly been cooler. last year death valley was mid 130's. global warming has really cooled things down. with all the extra snow and rain we had so far this year. i'm thinking winter is gonna be a SON OF A B****
as for the windows updates. make sure you check the NEVER CHECK FOR UPDATES. you'll get a nagging screen every time you power up. but one click turns it off. provided you have vista service pack 2. don't know about xp, if that's what your running. you can do the updates at your convenience when you have a real internet and not using your a t & t.
i never never never do the updates. as microsoft always manages to come up with an update every now and then that just TOTALLY F**** up my system. and i have to do a complete hard drive wipe out and restore.
quite frankly. i've never seen any advantages anyways. it's not like you actually see any tweaking of the system or new features being added. and for the general user, they just want there pc to work. they don't care about updates becuase it don't effect them anyways. but it's your pc. if you want the updates. then by all means. have at em. it never hurts to grab them. (((for the most part))))

check above posting. -
Updates ARE important. I remember one they released last year... it fixed a problem with internet explorer (which most of us use probably). The problem was that it allowed it to store important information (like that credit card number you just used on Amazon!) on your computer in the temp folders, and it allowed access to it from over the internet. so anybody that knew your IP address and how to access the information could do so.
Most updates are to fix problems. You probably won't see any visible changes, you are right. I, personally, would not recommend to NEVER get updates. If you do turn it off, check for updates at least quarterly. I used to manage around 3,000 computers, all of them had auto updates, all of them were different machines, and I only had a handful of problems because of updates.
That's my 2 cents. -
Rhino got his 100.00 orientation pay as soon as he was on his trainer's truck. It was on his (Rhino's) card.

didn't say i don't recommend them. i just said i never use them. (i know how i want and expect my system to run.) and i can wait for a full blown service pack to come out. over individual updates.
i don't put up with no slouch that takes 15 minutes to get the blood flowing before i can actually use the thing. that's a waste of electricity, and that's not being green. i like turning the button on, doing what i need to do IMMEDIATELY, then turning it off. and doing something else. i don't have the patience to smoke a pack of cigs waiting for the machine.
i also said it never hurts to have them. i leave the updates on for people's pc's that i go out to fix.
what works for me don't work for others. we all use our puters in our own way.
by no means do i endorse everyone else to run there pc's the same way i do. -
Right I forgot about that bonus he should of gotten another one after he upgraded! -
I have my camera sitting on the dash, ready to snap anything that catches my fancy.
it could be the sun setting on the mountains, Bambi in the empty corn fields, JJ being a redneck
or one of the Babies being amusing.

Anybody heard anything about the new ProStars? Are they any good? I hear they are pretty good MPG wise, but not from a real reliable source.
-
Smadronia has a new Pro-star next time she posts she can let you know!!
She did say somethin about it breaking down the first week she had it. -
I had the chance to get a new prostar or recover this Volvo I'm driving now. I opened the door of the prostar and I was like I'll take the volvo. They are nice trucks, they ride nice, but there is NO storage space in them. If you don't carry more than a change of clothes no problem, but if your like me and have a TV, XBOX, microwave, refrigerator(real fridge not a cooler) the volvo has way more room.ChipperDawg Thanks this.
