Follow up to my frozen door situation from last week.

Talked to the dudes in the trailer shop. Said it took them over an hour to get the door open. A forklift and a sledgehammer were required. Said every time they hit the side of the trailer with the sledgehammer it sounded like it was hailing inside the trailer.

That always makes me laugh as I end up with the cruise on to get those extra couple mph but then drive with my foot on the pedal to keep the truck from slowing down to the speed of the vehicle 600’ ahead of me.

    Question...
One of our drivers just finished telling me that the Richmond shop has started turning down the speed on the trucks!
Those any one know if this is true or just not so.

If that is true Im betting there will be an exodus of drivers over that one. I can see doing it to those crashing and getting speeding tickets but shouldn't punish everyone. That will put a dent in miles one can get in a day....

That's why I'm asking the question.
I have learned not to believe this kind of stuff from other drivers but also over the years I have learned that communication is not Abilene strongest cuality.
Hope someone that his or her truck has come out of the Richmond shop lately can let us know if it's true.

They had my truck from 30 Jan to 10 Feb and no tweaks to the speed here. Can't discount it having started in the last day or so but this is the first I've heard about it.

On an unrelated note, that Aleris down the street from the yard, aren't they FCFS? Been a LONG while and I've got a late-ish appointment time tomorrow. The afterhours guy here was no help, just said, "if that's what the planner put there then that's the earliest you can be there." Yeah buddy, you're new to our planners.

Sitting 4 miles out from del at Costco in Mira Loma in morning.

The wind over elk mountain yesterday showed it's tail, but I guess that's just business as usual for Wyoming.
