apu and the big carriers that have them

    Crete and Shaffer put them on the low mileage Century class Freightliners. Love mine, but it is a Tripac and it is LOUD and runs rough. Keeps the cab cool for sure.

    Might just be your unit. I know I've been in trucks with both carrier and tripacs on them, and the tripac was the quieter of the 2. Also, the carrier had a generator with a regular 120v AC outlet, but that would only work when the apu was running, so if ya wanted to use anything electrical you had to run the apu, even if you didn't use the heat/AC. Or you could use your own inverter. The tripacs had 1500 watt inverters installed with them, and the webasco bunk heaters. Was a really nice setup, when they worked right. :biggrin_25525:
