They aren’t doing any of the heavy lifting. They will lend their name to someone else’s litigation to look active.

Hagens Berman has been suing Swift for 14 years over the fact that they are paying drivers by a system that deliberately cheats drivers out of mileage. Swift essentially has endless money so they drag their feet and make it as costly as possible for the law firms seeking justice.

Are they STILL wrestling over THIS? 14 #### years?

OMFG. Thats amazing. I guess swift would be facing a existential threat from something like that.

They won’t ever win because that isn’t a problem exclusively at Swift, but also at many other trucking companies. They’re better off fighting for a federal law that ensures mile-based-paid drivers are paid fairly for the miles that they drive.

On January 21, 2020, the Honorable Timothy J. Thomason decertified the class and granted Swift’s Motion for Summary Judgment. Judge Thomason also vacated the trial.

That's true. The one I really like is when they sued the state of Tennessee, my home state. They won that case and it stopped the corruption at the weigh stations and politicians soliciting bribes from trucking companies; contribute bribes and your trucks won't be inspected at weigh stations, but if they are inspected, they'll pass with no violations.

Society has reached a comfort level where nobody dare risk any discomfort for the betterment of all of us. We have no real voice , I have seen some try to organize only to be shouted down by others either to afraid or not willing to go the distance. The ppl in office only care about political contributions and power , they say in speeches they are for the working class but the gap between the rich and the poor grows year by year . The Punjabi organizations are the only ones I have seen organize with true American spirit , much respect to those guys.

Great commentary...sad info! Is it any wonder why we get draped over a barrel by government red tape and brokerages?

I am sure it’s near impossible to gather a unified voice from a bunch of independent business owners who are primarily in this business because they do not like to conform into corporate programs and enjoy tooting their own horn the way they feel best.

One of the 2 largest industries that basically makes this world go round - and the other one is farming - and neither has a unified voice and we get left at the alter time and time again. The middle man rapes the producer and pockets the cash while not producing the product, creating the service, or is even the end user. It’s been this way in farming also...wheat hasn’t improved in price to the farmer in 40 years. It’s barely a break even crop and yet your wheaties is marked up about 2000% by the time your kids get it for breakfast!

I wonder how big a revolution it would take if farmers just didn’t plant a seed of wheat one year. How many people would it affect if we parked our trucks for a month or two or until something breaks? I’m not the pioneer of this idea...I just bring it up for discussion!

    The nation would break.

We ship 40% of our corn, about 30% of our rice and around a hell of alot of that Wheat overseas to other Nations.

If that got stopped? Well we might as well put the armories to 15 minutes notice with manned armor etc because the hungries will invade us for this land we wont work for a year.
