trucking image controversy

If I see brights flashing in my mirror, and I have my turn signal on... that's my cue that I'm being let in. Don't get pissed when I merge in front of you. If you wanna pass, just pass. I see you in my mirror, and I already know you're there

 

I thought this once...then I went to work with family that drove trucks. I learned very quickly there is more to driving a truck then just...driving. Weird I know. Like @D.Tibbitt said...the good ones make it look easy, flawless and like any idiot can do it.

Sadly the majority of the general public is ignorant to what goes into trucking, what they know comes from TV and Movies and we all know Hollywood doesn't always paint good picture of truckers, trucking, etc. Your either a murderer, drug addict, or some other crazy thing. Politicians like to demonize truckers, after all it's your fault there are truck only tolls now....(I kid I kid..don't hurt me).

People who look down on truckers, are also the same type of people who tend to look down on Construction workers, plumbers, HVAC, Electricians, mechanics, etc etc. or any other blue collar worker.

Not my place to judge another man's job. I'm just glad that other person is working an not being supported by me.

Drivers be safe. Idiots who act stupid to drivers...don't trip in the crosswalk.

Sirscrapntruckalot - People say..."It's not brain surgery people!" Do brain surgeons say..."It's not flipping a burger, people!" or 'It's not retail people!" ?

 

I'm mostly concerned that people that cant stand to be around people chose trucking. What is that? You are more around people than ever. Those aren't empty cars. They are people! You have to deal with customers. You have to deal with other drivers. Why is this the no people skills place? I dont get it.

 

Passing in that Firebird was unsafe. Driver was helping you out.
