what's the best brand Atlas to get?

The only atlas to buy is the Rand McNally Motor Carriers Atlas. It comes in plain paperback, laminated and also in a large scale (larger maps for easier viewing) versions. It has all the information one needs in the front pages. Any questions about raod restrictions, size and weight restrictions, contacts for the states, etc. is all in there.

And if his trainer does not have an atlas and is relying on him to bring one, good luck learning anything useful from that guy... Sheesh...

 

Biscuit is dead on the money..... The spiral binding makes it very easy to flip through the pages without destroying it....

The best I found is the LARGE PRINT!! Be Safe Be Good Be Gone

 

Rand McNally Motor Carriers Atlas!

Definitely recommend the laminated version... much tougher, and holds up against a lot of use.

 

Oh Boy, a trainer with no Atlas. Agree100% ,large print is a lot easier to read especially with the poor light on the truck.
Also alway carry a flash light with you. it comes handy when you hook up to the truck at night.

 

The laminated version also makes for an excellent dining room table. When eating fast food while sitting in the driver's seat. I dont care as much for the large print version because some of the larger states are on too many pages. I belive Texas is 4 pages not including detail of cities. The laminate on the large print version is also not as durable as the normal print laminated edition.

Yeah, get the Rand McNally Motor Carrier Atlas. Either regular laminated or large print laminated. Don't get the non-laminated. I've lost four states in my non-laminated. And I liked those states, heck I live in one of them. While you're about it, get a new trainer. If your trainer does not have the necessary tools to do the job, how good a trainer do you think he will be?
