Hello all....
I am quite pleased to find this forum! An abundance of advice available at the fingertips. I especially enjoy reading what you experienced Truckin' Tyrannosaurs have to say.
I hope to be starting schooling soon (private school here in MN) and am considering a "pre-hire" offered by Werner or possibly TMC. I spent over an hour on the "good" and "bad" companies threads. Very interesting...but would appreciate any other personal experience advice from those of you involved in either company. I'd rather hear from a driver than a recruiter!
Great forum! Thanks guys/gals!
MN Newbie here! Advice more than welcome!

Hello and welcome aboard. You might also try searching TMC\WERNER in the search feature at the top of the page. Keep looking around and you will find what you are looking for.
Remember, you get out what you put in, that is true here as well as where ever you go to work. -
Are you going to TCE?
-
Yes. I am planning on going to TCE as soon as the financing is arranged. Did you go there too? If so it would be great to hear how you liked/disliked it and/or the instructors if you had. A career change at 46 is a little scary...but the alternatives are double-dog scary!! Ha! -

David when I went there I thought that the instructors were good. Just be there on time and get train as much as you can. If possible start studying for your permit cause thats one of the first things youll do, unless you have before hand which will help and get ya more time practicing. make sure though that you have comfortable foot wear. When I was there there was one truck for 3/4 students to practice backing, so youll be standing waiting for your turn. All in all though the instructors are good to work with. But make sure you get the paperwork in order and that the buisness office sticks to what they say. Good luck and dont just apply for the recruiters that go there look on the inet also for other companies. I went with werner and then a month on my own I was sent home due to lack of freigh and no work in the MN area at the time. I drive local now so Im good and get paid hourly. Good luck.

Thanks for the info Shriner.
When did you go to TCE? I am wanting to go with Warner at this point...but don't want to be "layed off" due to lack of loads! I guess ya just hit the market and find the driving jobs then, huh? I appreciate your input!

This forum is just what a newbie needs! Yah...I'm green...but I'll be climbin' the ladder fast! This seems like a cutthroat bidd'ness. But where there is a will there is a way, right? I like your signature! It's always nice to find a fellow liberal who voted for 'Bammy!
