I know 8LLs and 9LLs but ive never heard of a 7LL. Its in a truck I'm looking at and just curious. If anybody has a shift pattern diagram I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks
God Bless
Can Someone tell me what a 7LL transmission is

If I remember right, my brother has a 7speed. Believe it is just a straight H pattern, with no splitter.
-
So it would be a straight 7 with a set of granny's?
-
Well this truck has a splitter but no deep reduction thumb button like a a 8 or 9LL would have. I wonder if it's not a Mack seven speed instead of a 7LL as they say.
-
If its in a Mack i woud say thats the common sense answer. If it something else I couldnt see swapping a mack 7 spd into it but stranger things have happened l guess.
-
Guess ive never driven one.. how is it a 7 if it has a split?
-
Looking online it looks like reverse, 1st and 2nd have a deep reduction available. Kind of like shifting a 15 spd or 8LL. I think i drove one years ago once or twice. I remember big gaps between each gear. Probably what gave R models that distinctive sound and the puff of smoke going through the gears.

The low gear is split for lower gears, I think there are two splits for low gear with the 7LL. I had one with a single split on low gear - 7L.
