If it pleases the topic a alternator is a number of bolts and a hour or so to throw it in there plus wiring. For 2000 or whatever, I'll do it myself with a new alternator big enough for the job.

That price is awfully high though. I paid 4500 for new reman trans and 900 for new clutch from peterbilt. Took me 8 hours my self to install it all. It’s not a back breaking job. Yeah 0ver 8k in labor is rediculous and shame on the person that pays it

you have been robbed..... at least its deductible, god a mighty... 6500 without a core, 550 clutch, 100 resurface flywheel, 2000 labor max. bewll housings dont wear out...thats a max of 2 days labor..acually a good diesel dog could do it in a day in and outChubby Fly and D.Tibbitt Thank this.
