I just registered at Progressive Trucking School in Chicago, today!!! I've never worked in the trucking industry but became very interested & the $1800 160hr course just came at a perfect time & I couldn't pass it up... What would you recommend to be the next step to a newbie like me???

Buy a pistol & a box of ammunition, then play Russian Roulette.

Actually read, learn, Ask questions, listen, & don't create an attitude when someone who has had years of experience tells you something completely different then the guy that trained you with his 3 months experience.

I hear ya. After some information I found out today about a "new test phase" my company is doing I'm thinking it might be my best option too! :biggrin_25521:

Whatever that thing is you always wanted to do, you better go do it now. You just sold the rest of your life to sitting behind a steering wheel.

Also for a week straight only sleep for 5 hours a night to warm you up for the future. :biggrin_2554:

If you have range in the morning, get there early and familiarize yourself with the pre-trip. Just do one step at a time. Familiarize yourself with all the parts you are supposed to inspect.

    Don't listen to negative people.

A time when freight is at a 20 year low and over 90,000 people lost their jobs in the industry over the last year is the perfect time ?
Watch this and think about it .
