This is supposed to be the “prototype” from ‘59. Used a C cab and like “semi” retired said raised it a couple storys high. And to think Ford built that cab until 1990.

Tiny stacks in those pix - sure look funny now.
I had a Rollback put together from a NYC garbage truck cab/chassis, with 39,000 Mi.
and with a dig Detroit that looked similar.
I guess that's what you are calling a C cab? -
The C series ran from ‘57-‘90. Ford bought the cab design from Budd who had designed it for Mack first. Seemed like Millions sold in all kinds of configurations including fire apps. Roadway was still running a bunch around here as city humpers till 2003 or so.

Those older cab over 800 or 8000 series Ford trucks make great wedge bed car haulers. Getting to be very popular.

I remember seeing a lot of N & C models back in the day, but only a few of the H's. Seemed like the W series was more popular.
Speaking of Macks, here's a mid '80's mid-liner that I was given as a sub truck while my U model was in for a PM. I didn't care for the way it handled much, but it would turn on a dime...
