Look it up on on your App Store or google. Just another gps/traffic app. Waze gives/notifies you where the speed cops are at or hiding. It all depends on the individuals reporting on incidents. I quit using the app cuz I came to a closure and Waze kept saying it was open, among other small incidents, there’re as not reliable as my Apple imaps.

I had always heard that but figured it was an ole bullhalla tale.:D

Traveling back and forth through Nevada in the 55mph days we all had a bird dog. When the troopers started using the instant on method a fella just had to wait for a 4 wheeler to pass and fall in behind about a half mile back and listen for the beep. It was quite a game back then, and even if you lost it was just a $15 pay on the spot waste of natural resources ticket. Those were good times!

It was a long time ago .. but it worked ..I think it was the K band radar but thats how the Law Dogs calibrated their radar guns was with a tunning fork
For me that dropping in behind a 4 wheeler most the time didn't work cause I was in more of a hurry than they were
    Sometimes I would do that
Most the time they didn't need a radar gun to know that I was Exciting the speed limit.

They use radar more than laser. They’ll also pace you.

There’s only one company left that makes radar detector detectors and I believe they are getting ready to close down.

The lights that will blind the laser are still available .
It’s a tiny LED light , blinds the laser for a second and then shuts off , gives you a second or two to slow down .

the lasers are getting better at detecting the lights though .

They do. What some people don't understand is a radar detector is basically a scanner. It scans all the frequencies that radar uses. This scanning creates electrical noise that can be seen by a device designed to look for it. I'm greatly oversimplifying this of course. Some of the better units will shut down as soon as it detects this device. I do have to agree with the majority of the comments. These days a RD is basically useless. One of the last speeding tickets I was issued was in Pennsylvania and the State Officer was using some form of VASCAR. I no longer have my copy of the ticket so I can't look back as what it was called. I just know the cop "clocked" me!

Vascar is where the revenue collection office just “eyeballs” and estimates your speed and grabs some money from you .

    And some folks deserve it

I saw a dashcam the other day from a driver that posed it on another site where he blew a steer tire and couldn’t control it and drifted into the concrete barrier on the left and bounced off and was able to safely stop on the right shoulder

His dashcam displayed the speed .
He was doing 85 when the tire blew .

No, he was using a device as well as noting it on the ticket. I'm not saying what you said is wrong. I am saying in my case this was not the case.
