He probably realized he was in way over his head. He did you a favor by leaving it there rather than spilling it down the side of the mountain. My first few days of mountain driving tested every bit of my skills and resolve

He definitely did the right thing.
When he came to me looking for a driving job, he presented himself as a great driver, with oodles of experience.
He had about 10 years running the highway, and another 10 years driving logging, but was driving logging truck in the fraser valley area.
He was divorced, and looking for a new start, in a new area.
Had moved to the kootenays, and wanted to get back into hauling logs.
What he wasn't prepared for was the difference in terrain, or roads. When i saw him that evening, it was probably 12 hours after he had walked away from my truck.
He was still babbling incoherently, because he was still scared.
Handed me the keys, and left. Heard a couple of months later he was driving a 5 ton moving small freight.
Lower mainland logging, isn't like hauling logs in the mountains.
What they call mountains, we call small bumps.
What they call bad roads, we consider a great road.
Still good for a chuckle. -

as a teen, i think about 17 yrs old, i worked, well almost worked at one. ''it was" a hot August day, no fans blowing, only open windows, and the HOT machinery making the air even hotter.
1st coffee break was at 9AM, i started at 7:30

I've had crap jobs, not cleaning outhouses, but sometimes they turned better after a couple or few weeks and sometimes not.
I just DESPISED standing around waiting on something to do, like the crowd of card players, so those were the gigs I split.
At least with Trucking I KNEW it would get better in that I would soon be again moving, except for the 2-3 day "holidays" O.T.R., waitin' on Freight.JoeyJunk, MartinFromBC and Chinatown Thank this. -
It preferable to having some nut jobs rules crammed down our throats .
A lot of people have the “I will not let them turn my state into California “ mindset now .
Most states would be far better off without the crazy federal regulations and taxes .
Any state with some natural resources and hard working people would be far better off .JoeyJunk, smokey12 and MartinFromBC Thank this.
