“If a carrier can’t afford premiums on a $2 million insurance policy ... should be ... trucking"

They should be trucking or shouldn't be trucking?

 

Oh yea? Sure I can afford it. But even my insurance agent agrees that my one truck operation is not a 2 million dollar risk. Whats your answer for that?

 

Base rate of $3/mile - that will make it easier

 

I try to stick to 4 for all total miles now.

 

Some insurance companies won’t even write a policy for that much

 

I was thinking $5 to $6-not including surcharges to certain regions (entire West Coast,Texas,Louisiana,Florida,Georgia,all of New England and New Jersey,New York & Pennsylvania).
The costs of doing business-if my operating costs are affected I have to increase my costs to compensate.
It takes money to run these trucks-they don’t run on hopes and dreams or pixie fairy dust!!

 

I'm being vague on purpose. But I dont care if I work one day a week or 7. I dont need 3000 miles a week to live.
