Is double brokering actually illegal? I've never seen or heard any actual legislation against it.

This is America based on free enterprise. I dont want anyone to tell me what to charge for hauling a load. So I dont think we want the Government getting involved with brokers either. It will all work out. Just dont work with the greedy ones.

How would you feel if they did the same for O/O? How would you like it if you were capped at 15% profit?
I already have a percentage that I shoot for. I sure don’t want someone telling me that I can only make a certain amount of money.

I don't think they should be capped by the government...but I think there SHOULD be an accurate accounting of the load's rates and fees given to the driver before they agree to the load. Just so he knows what he's getting into.

I can see your point in this, but really what the shipper and broker agreed to isn’t any of our business. Same as going to the tire shop, the tire shop doesn’t have to tell you what their cost is on the tires they’re selling.

But that opacity is allowing for collusion. They could all be working together to ensure their profits. Just a little honesty. It'd be refreshing!

But you are correct, I think what I was crabbing about they call Co brokering, which is not illegal..

Who’s going to be the one that provides the information?

    Plus, it'd be
The shipper could do that pretty easily.
