Couldn’t tell you. Nothing special on the specs, the only heavy option is a 5’ slider and 270 gallons of fuel. 13 liter paccar with an auto in the current truck, I think that’s about the lightest drivetrain. These plastic aero trucks with emissions are way heavier then the aluminum bodied trucks of the past.

Just curious, what’s the stamped weight? My current truck has the same drivetrain as you and it’s stamped at 17700 with the Ultraloft bunk. Friend of mine that has tankers just got 2 new 589’s with 58” flattops, Paccar and 13 spd manuals, and they’re stamped at 17300.

Europe has been kicking the #### out of us in regards to heavy duty diesels the last couple years. With SCR now being used to clean up the NOx it has rendered EGR obsolete. With EGR no longer choking out the engine the imagineers can tune the engine for performance and they'll naturally produce very little particulates. So no need for a DPF anymore either.

you need hp in parts of europe , italy and then there is the Himalayas in Swiss , SE France ect plus the steep ancient roads i would guess they'd need to traverse occasionally. Its my understanding that going thru alot of europe is similar to say west Virginia until you get east . Ukraine and russia has the kansas like plains but you hit the Urals about mid russia.

I doubt the extra 3k pounds is all engine. There have been glider kits built here in the states using C18 Cats and I don’t think they were 22k bobtail. It’s likely just a bunch of little stuff that adds up, like the lift bags for the rear axle, the clutch assembly for disconnecting the rear axle, all the extra air tanks needed to run everything.

17,198. My bobtail weight is full of fuel and a full headache rack with two smaller tarps also. I’ve never had a truck that was anything close to what the door sticker said.

The door sticker is just engine fluids and like 20 gallons of fuel or something.

I dare say based on what I’ve seen on some of the videos the engineering put into those trucks especially from a maintenance standpoint is a lot simpler than some of the conventional trucks sold here. Especially on the engine itself. If you blow a head gasket, you can just remove the individual gasket from one cylinder head-you don’t have to pull a whole cylinder bank! That significantly reduces downtime.

I’m wondering if they’re attempting to maybe start marketing those trucks over here in hopes of government approval to sell them here… Is there more and more coming over here and that new truck in the video I posted he’s got a deal with the federal government and Scania that he’s allowed to have that truck for two years to do some kind of marketing stuff with it with the option for extending that two years… I don’t think they’re bad trucks to be honest. I’ve seen one up close firsthand. They’re pretty darn nice
