Shifting weather patterns. Driest records in some parts of the world and wettest records in some parts of the world.
Mississippi River is slowly drying up and instead of diverting part of it to Southwestern states, they let it run into the Gulf of Mexico.

They are probably welcome to bring some buckets. They’d probably even be welcome to buy up all the land needed to build a pipeline, and then build a pipeline. Or, they could stop building cities in the desert or areas that are prone to drought.

Don't need a pipeline. Army Corps of Engineers surveyed and there's a natural low level that can be worked and it would be like a small river running into New Mexico, then pipelined to Arizona and Nevada.
Lefties will never allow that to happen.

West megadrought worsens to driest in at least 1,200 years
Feb 15, 2022 · The drought monitor says 55% of the U.S. West is in drought
    ~
The homes, towns, cities were built long before the drought started. Even Colorado and Kansas are in trouble
    ~
California is suffering from drought, but most of that is manmade.
The Salton Sea in California is completely dry. Still lots of homes with boat docks there.
Most of California fresh water is pumped into the ocean. It can be redirected to fill the Salton Sea, dried out lakes and underground caverns. Lefties are fighting all of that. "That's our water and you can't have any of it."
