03 8100 won't go into gear.

    Company I work for has an 03 8100 we just made a 2 1/2hr trip and truck acted fine. When driver pulled up into the field and stopped then went to take off again the truck wouldn't go into gear it'd just grind. I tried adjusting the clutch but no luck. So I had him shut it down and put in gear and start it back up, clutch started working again but by time he got halfway across the field it quit working again. I don't have a lot of experience in these bigger trucks so I'm at a loss as to where to even start at in trying to get it going again.

    My truck did the same thing. It was the slave cylinder for the clutch that went out. U could limp it to a trk stop by doing what u did to check the clutch and floating all the way. If u have to stop u shut it off!!!! Scarey huh!!!

    Have it looked at by someone who know what they are doing. Check first to see if the clutch is adjusted properly.
