04 ISX 475 boost fluctuation in high gears

    Last week i notice boost fluctuation in 12th and 13th gear under WOT. Doesnt looks like i lost power just boost bouncing. I did notice its not running smooth at WOT kinds shaking on rough road on high speeds. I cleaned two sensor on intake from carbon but same thing. So try disconnected EGR connector. Im gtting full bust 35psi no bouncing, before it was 32-28 back and forth. I did replaced bad EGRs but i always get a code electrical or mechanical fault EGR code. But this time no codes. EGT was little higher with boost fluctuation use to be up to 450f now goes uo to 650f but MPG is still good 6.5mpg+. It desnt smoke any extra just like before between shifts
    Truck have 1.6M. In frame was done at 1.4M. 1st turbo at 780k 2nd at 1.5M. EGR at 570k, 2nd at 1.2M 3rd at 1.5M.
    That day when boost started bouncing i did ran low on fuel but i had about 50gal left and i climp big hill from stop sign in 5th gear at WOT for about 2 min till i reach top of the hill. I look for boost leak at idle and 1500rpms with soapy water and no leaks except little air leak at valve under air compresor on inlet side. O ring in quick fitting is leaking but didnt replace it yet since dealer is closed on sunday. Im lost on this one

    I connected EGR valve again and same boost bouncing like before. I fixed little air leak at valve under air compressor and same thing. This have to be something to do with EGR valve. I think its not closing all the way under WOT or dont close fast enough when i hit full throttle. Anyone ?

    I just cleaned little tube that goes from EGR cooler to the EGR pressure sensor next to thermostat, same thing. They i install new EGR pressure sensor and still same issue. I think EGR valve is going bad even without any fault codes

    Anyone have this issues. Looks like after a few seconds of boost fluctuation boost goes up and stays where it should be. But why the heck it fluctuate when i apply throttle?

    A few ays ago i got code for EGR out of calibration so i end up replacing EGR valve. Code is gone but this time its hard to get full boost in igh gears at first WOT than it will come after a few sconds. No leaks anywhere

    You don't seem to be having much luck with your thread bud. Hope some others chime in. I've got a EPA 10 vith VGT in mine. I know you're setup is different but have you checked out the rawze (dot) com website? Pretty good ISX info there too.

    did you change - pressure differential sensor (delta p)? tubes to same?
    clean the sensor that looks like spark plug on air intake[drivers side] and change the other one with the 3 contacts?
    passenger side the sensor[this one also have 3 contacts} and tube thats near egr valve?
    I have the same issue. I also have a slight air leak in the fuel system, there are small bubbles in the fuel bowl. I thinking of changing the fuel lines. to the filter bowl.

    I changed EGR pressure sensor that sits in thermostat housing and cleaned little tube underneath. Didnt replace delta p sensor and cleaned those two tubes its a bi*ch to take delpa p and tubes off since i done it twice, last time i cleaned tubes in 2014 when i was replacing primer pump. Cleaned temp and boost sensors on the intake. Day after i replaced EGR valve i replaced air filter and i was getting full boost about 35psi without bouncing and than i got load to the Denver. Right now im getting lower boost about 30psi but still no bouncing much. I think boost is low because of high altitude and thinner air, its 4000 ft over here but im on my way to MO so it may get better. I tried unplugging EGR valve and im getting same boost like when EGR valve is connected to the ECU. I may replace boost sensor. I still think even new EFR valve doesnt closing all the way or may oppening a little bit under WOT/full boost.
    I missed days when i used to boost 40psi

    I think i fixed bouncing psi with new EGR valve and fresh air filter. Im getting 35psi in hi gears. Question now is how i can get back old 37-40 psi. I know mobody didnt mess with ECU and i must test Air Cooler or CAC how volvo dealers like to call it for leaks but i dont think it will leak but who knows. Thanks alot
