Been in the shop 3 days
Day 1. New air dryer (didn't fix the problem)
Day 2. New compressor (didn't fix the problem)
Day 3. Clean the purge valve on air dryer, a small piece shaving in the purge valve was keeping it open when it purge and causing a constant leak.
Well day 4 I'm on the road and it still leaking, whenever I see my air dropping I stop and tap the purge valve with a hammer and it stop leaking. So tomorrow I'm going to pick up a new purge valve install it. Hopefully that will fix this on going problem.
It suck when u spend $2000 to fix a problem and still have the same problem -
Does the purge valve come as a single item or as a kit?

You can buy a purge valve rebuild kit.
You really do need to change that filter before anything else though.
If the filter has never been replaced, that will lead to more issues, as it sounds like it has already. Cheap and quick to change, especially on your rig.
Mine is under the truck on the air tank, a total POS IMHO. I have rebuilt it all using stock size o rings, when Freightliner said it cannot be rebuilt.....
If you are passing through Eloy,Az this weekend, I can give you a hand changing it mate. I am here until Monday.
Martinoc83baker Thanks this. -
Its a brand new air dryer got it install on Wednesday (new filter and purge valve) and I am still loosing air going down the road, I even have them blow air through the system to make sure nothing in the tank or the lines. Then a new air compressor.
Sometimes when it purge it stay open and leak the air down until the warning light and the brake light comes on then it build it self back up.
I am tired of buying parts that's not fixing the problem. -
I'm going to replace the governor again just in case it went bad in 5 months.
-
Missed the part about the filter I guess.
If the purge valve is staying open after it reaches pressure, then the valve is sticking. See if you can get it to do it when parked, then reach under the dryer and give the purge valve a tap. If that stops the leak, then that's your problem.
Only doing it downhill is telling me that there is some crud in the system that is jamming open the purge valve etc.

Also, what air dryer is it?
AD-IS or another one?
Where is it mounted?

This is a new air dryer I got Wednesday night
Its mounted to the frame by the right drive wheel
I will get the brand in the morning,
Now it leak even on a flat surface, I don't know what else to do its been in four shops $2300 worth of parts and still have the same problem
Yesterday I replace the line from the governor to the air dryer, the only thing on the system to change it the governor, I will be doing that Wednesday.
The governor was changed in october, but I will go ahead and replace it again just to be sure I didn't miss anything that would cause this problem -
I rebuilt the purge valve four times since Wednesday and finally put a new one on Sunday and I still have the problem
