hey dude, I'm getting like a grinding noise when I make a left turn under a load, slow turns getting thru intersections an ####...

coming from the trany area, clutch pedal, can't really feel it in the clutch tho...

    motor or trans mount maybe?
    U joint...?

Like maybe a tire hitting the inner hood fender?

no, I wish, this is definitely some mechanical issue, can't put my finger on it. it seems to be only when I'm turning left slowly, under a load and it's straining a bit, almost like lugging the motor in too low a gear, but not...

    and it's like a grinding.

would a bad mount put strain on the clutch or trans, from flexing in one direction or another? getting out of alignment a bit and crunching stuff up

I can't see turning one direction or the other affecting the engine or trans to the point where they are making the noise. I would suspect possibly a steering gear issue and the sound is being transmitted up the frame rail and going through the rear motor mount and they may be why you feel the noise is from that area. Does this noise change with engine speed or vehicle speed? You might just have to find a big empty parking lot and do some turns to see. The frame will take some minor flexing from turning, but if anything is really worn or broken that bad I would think you could feel something different the rest of the time too. The clutch linkage could also be seizing up to the point where any little normal flex the engine/trans is moving during the turn is putting some stress on it and engine vibration is coming through it.

I do hear some whine from the steering pump, but I don't think that is what I'm feeling.

it does change with engine speed, but I'm going real easy on it when turning and just using enough torque to get thru the intersection without underlugging and putting so much stress on it.

had the clutch serviced or adjusted last PM, I would think if anything that bad were going on they would have told me about it.

the clutch I think is on the way out, it grabs at the top of the pedal, tho they told me I had plenty of meat left on it.

    something ain't right...
cash is a problem right now and can't really go there at the moment.

figure I'll have to wait till it goes to really do much about it....

    I don't know...

Yep, you have a failed exhaust gas pressure sensor. Very common problem with ISX. This sensor is near the thermostat housing on the right front corner of the engine at the top. This sensor measures exhaust gas pressure. These sensors fail all the time simply because they are so close the exhaust manifold and the heat. You just need to replace the sensor.
