Newer air tanks use plastic for the line connection into the tank...check this "seal" if it is plastic. Weather, both cold and hot, will effect it's performance and "sealability".

So I was taking to a trucker at the truck stop and he said I could perform some diag on each air brake canister to ensure it's not a bad canister... he said take the service line off each canister and see if there is air leaking from the can... at the same time the parking/tractor brake is released and bleeding air.
well i attempted this today and not sure i did this right. wondering if someone could verify.
1. air pressure in tractor at 100psi... released tractor/parking brake... bleed issue occurred.
2. removed the service line (clearly marked and is the larger hose of the two) from Front Driver canister... nothing comming from the can, but air comming from the hose.
3. placed service line back on canister.
4. repeat steps 1-4 for each can... same result..
i am going to assume, the brake canisters are working properly at this point??? -
There should be no air coming from the hose on that test.
