To all who have had c15 acert problems, I have a check engine light on that goes off if I sit and idle but as soon as I pull anything it comes on. The flash code is a 98 which I found out is a engine coolant diverter current low....had it on the computer and it pulled a 284-5 however 3 different dealerships I've talked to have told me they have never seen that code before. Wondering if anyone can help me fig out how to fix this issue....the water temp gauge will also not go above 160deg. F. If I make the rig work hard pullin 40k up a hill it goes up too about 180. I have normal heat in the cab and the water temp heats up to about 120 within 15-20 mins of start up from cold. Any ideas on where to start would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks

Take a real good look at the wiring that is mounted on the rh side of the block, it goes to the coolant diverter, stupid thing is over time heat from the manifold, turbos and thermostat housing , melt that loom,
I've seen it prolly 8 times

yep what he said, usually the wire harness is burned or melted. reroute it and away you go.

X3 yep what he said. your t-stats need replaced and maybe the t-stat housing if its eroded. Once you have the t-stats out you will have more room to cut and replace the wires going to the coolant diverter valve. Route the new wires down to the water pump along a heater hose and back to the diverter valve.

I am having the same issue with burnt off wiring just up from the coolant diverter valve. I am having trouble locating the wiring back on the block to re-wire it back into. Can someone exlplain to me where the wiring originates so i can find it? '05 C15

it is part of main engine wire harness. it loops around the front of engine may be just under the thermostat housing.
