06 Mack AC427 running rough/low power/black smoke

    Should be way more thread sticking up on adjusting screw. I use the 6 in lb wrench, basically finger tight.

    Final update. Pulled the oil pan and inspected. Cam lifters were broke which is why the adjusts were outta wack trying to reset overhead.

    Make sure you check all the H rings. Should be able to find service bulletin online with the procedure.

    Update:

    So yes check your H rings. Ring on five intake was loose. Looking down the tube looked fine, but double checked pushing an extension up through the bottom on all of them and it slid right up. Rear head got taken off and new oversized ring installed.

    Currently going through the reassembly. And overhead is looking way better than before.
