Ok, I will try this again. Its a 06 Volvo vnl 430 d12 engine 10 speed fuller trans, and I have a problem with my cruise control not engaging while the truck is moving. When im not moving I can engage the pto/rpm and I can raise up and down the rpms while not moving. The clutch and the brake switches are fine and are working tried lifting the pedals as it was mentioned in other posts, the speed sensor has been replaced. My speedometer, and my engine brake are working fine. The cruise control will not engage while the truck is moving, im puzzeled. I heard somebody mention in different posts about some kind of a cruise control air switch near the clutch pedal but im not getting any replies, and Im not sure where its at. I have been dealing with this problem for a while now and no one seems to know the problem, and I dont want to get ripped off by the mechanic again and the dealer will probably charge me a lot. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

First thing that comes to mind is it turned off in the ecm there are different settings you can do in the ecm with the cruise. However if it just stopped doing it and it used to work then that wont be it.
Danisuba19 Thanks this. -
It has not worked since i had the truck so that could be the problem. How do i check the settings or how do u change the settings.
-
Do u have any fault codes in youre vehicle ecu and also how is the engine brake working
-
Some volvo trucks with d12 have a cycle u have to do before u start the truck try that once just to make sure. U have to have full air psi turn ignition on and step on the brake pedal for bout a min then start the truck see if it changes anything
-
One fault code for egr valve i cant remember which and i will have to see what it says exactly. The engine break works only on one setting but i thought it could be the swotch on the dash. What r your thoughts and suggestions. Thanks

Ok i will try that in a min

U u have to look at the fault codes in the vehicle ecu that has usually more to do with te cruise then engine last time i had an issue like this i spent a long time checking all the wires between the vehicle ecu and the cruise switch everything turned put good and finally we replaced the vehicle ecu, before u do that i would definately tell u to stop by a shop with vcads pro or volvo software and see if somebody screwed something up with computer settings ive seen that a whole hell of a lot lately specially if they replaced ecm or vecu

That start up cycle didnt work. I will probably have to see and check. Just wanted to find out if it can be a simple problem so i can fix it.

I have an 01 770, when my cruise went out I replaced the stalk that houses the button. Problem solved.
