I’m sure the original owner and the new owner probably have the kind of money to throw around they’re not thinking “gee I better invest this so it grows”. The original owner wanted a Legacy 379 so he bought it. Who cares if he didn’t drive it much? Sometimes people just have ## money to throw around.
07 Pete 379 sells for $280,000

This is a 2000. Original owner ran it full time for a few years, then parked it and took a job. Lost his storage spot and had to sell it. It went to Washington next. That owner painted the frame and that was it. It sat parked inside his shop for 7 or 8 years. In 2021 when my truck was down for a DEF sensor I flew out to WA and drove it back for a friend of mine. And now it’s parked in his shop. When I drove it back from WA I was worried about the fuel filters because the guy said the last fuel he put in it was in Kansas when he drove it home from buying it. But that was back before the biofuel trash was a thing and I had zero issues coming home with it.

They still sold pre-emission in 2007? I thought that was in full swing by then. That must have been about the last year you could get one without a DPF.
D.Tibbitt and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
Nice stance on that one. Low but still drivable without scraping it on everything.D.Tibbitt, Rideandrepair and Long FLD Thank this.

Model year 2004 was the start of emission junk, model year 2007 was the last of the pre-DPF trucks and the end of the 379. Model year 2008 was the beginning of the 389 with all the new junk on it.D.Tibbitt, Rideandrepair, Bean Jr. and 1 other person Thank this.

Most 2003's (but not all) were EGR valve and acert compound turbo emissions trucks or bridge motors. Really 2002 was the last of the good electronic pre-emissions.
D.Tibbitt, GreenPete359 and Rideandrepair Thank this.
