Hi all, have a 07 Volvo VNL with Automatic Ultrashift, no crank after battery change, ran great before. Truck sat for several months, batteries got low, tried to charge/jump start etc. then replaced batteries to new ones, and now , dash lights turn on, but when trying to crank nothing. I jumped truck at starter solenoid and cranked up and runs fine. Then now I have a code reader and have cleared all, no codes on ECU only transmission, on transmission I have 3 codes; SID231 J1939 Data Link / FMI14 , PID168 / FMI 14 , and SID55 Clutch Actuator / FMI 7 system not responding. Any ideas? I changed all fuses in entire truck.

That sounds like you could have connected a wire in the wrong place?
Some of those had a solenoid between the ignition switch and the starter solenoid. They were on the left side of the engine plugged into a harness plug. Not nearly as large as I would expect and a common fail item. -

Your having the same trouble as am. Ive had a mechanic tell me its probably a software issue and will have to go to the dealership to get the software reloaded or updated. SInce you just changed out the batteries, make sure that both fuses are connected to positive terminal and the grounds are also connected. Make sure the fuses are good. I put new batteries in mine as well. No power to the shift controller, cant pull up transmission controls, says communication failure. Ive checked all the relays and fuses. I asked about this sometime back on this forum, maybe some new answers by now. If I dont find anything soon, Im going to have to take to the dealership.
