Hello, just curious if anyone can answer this. Any help is appreciated.
I have an 08' freightliner columbia with a Detroit 60. I'm interested in converting it to a dual exhaust system.
Would all I have to do is cut it, add in a Y pipe, pipe and elbows. Also I want to delete the muffler(s) and run 5"> 8" after the elbows.
Is this something that can be done, and will it mess with the dpf system at all?
Looks like I'll have to do dual out the bak of the cab, I have closed sides.
If duals are not an option, would I be able to do a straight single 5">8"outlet?
Thanks in advance.
08' columbia exhaust ?

Also if anyone knows of a solid company, or site. I'm looking for a chrome bumper as well.
Its the 3 piece wrap around design. I'm looking for a one piece and haven't had any luck. -
Being a dpf truck you shouldn't have a muffler .. The dpf itself acts as one any exhaust work you do after dpf needs to be quality stuff that can stand the heat or it will burn and change colours.. I had the factory exhaust burn through the flex pipes until they changed styles and the stack out back the chrome burnt off on a factory 2009 shaker it gets pretty hot doing a burn .. You might be better off spending your coin on other dress up items instead PS any extra bends or length of pipe you add will actually restrict flow even more than it already is by dpf

Don't even waste your time. You have a DPF on there, meaning there is no muffler. You can't do anything about it. If you want dual exhaust, get another truck.

Thank you. I honestly had no clue when it comes to trucks with dpf systems.
I seen a model a couple years earlier at a pilot the other day. He had a nice 8" dual setup that I liked. Ah well I can always chrome and light her up. -
I wonder if there are any companies doing dpf deletes for these. I know a buddy of mine did his on a 06' international he's got. So far I'm hearing good things.

There are companies that do them but we're not allowed to talk about that on this forum or this thread will be deleted.
As for the dual exhaust. If you want em then yes you just hack em down and start with a y pipe and build em up. Easy as pie. I don't know why you would buy another truck just cause you want dual exhaust.... seems dumb to me. Guys with Petes straight pipe and throw on 8" stacks all the time, they don't just throw they're trucks away.
