Can I ask you something? Are Canadian truck drivers really as bad as that stupid series Highway through Hell depicts? 1st of all, their idea of hell differs greatly from mine, looks like the most beautiful country, and most of the "recoveries" are scripted on some back road. Considering what Canadian drivers have to put up with, I think it's unfair to highlight every hiccup in the system.

 

It's reality TV. 95% of it is made up. They will turn a simple spin out on the hill in to over dramatized BS with 20 mins of dramatic music while the narrator talks about how everybody will die if they don't tow that 1 truck up the hill.

There used to be a member on this forum who they showed on the show once. He refused to let them put cameras in his truck. They still filmed from a distance and then added a bunch of fake radio chatter talking about how bad things were going. Made it seem like it was a miracle he made it to the top.

 

I hate to say it but they are quite bad in BC the last few years. A lot don't drive to conditions, they pass illegally on downhills, double solids and on blind corners, often forcing oncoming traffic onto the shoulder.


I know that highway better than the back of my hand, driven it thousands of times. I avoid it as much as possible these days because there are so many stupid truckers on it the last couple years.
